This page explains what happens to your details when you sign up on covseries.com. I've kept it short and in plain English. If anything is unclear, write to me and I'll answer.

Who I am

This website belongs to Jon T. Treanor, author of The Consequence of Vengeance. I am responsible for any personal information collected through it. You can reach me at jon@jontreanor.com.

This website collects nothing on its own

covseries.com uses no cookies, no tracking and no analytics. Reading the site leaves no trace with me.

When you sign up

When you choose to join, the sign-up button takes you to a form run by Sender, the email service I use. What you type goes straight to Sender, never through this website. I ask only for:

Sender also records the date and time you signed up and confirmed, so there is a record that you agreed.

After signing up, you will get an email asking you to confirm. Nothing else is sent until you click it.

What I use your details for

I use them for two things only: to send you your free copy of The Cane and the Kid, and to send you Faces in the Dark, my regular update conversations letter about what lives behind the face we show the world. From time to time it will also tell you about my books.

The legal basis is your consent. You can take it back at any time.

I will never sell your details or pass them to anyone for their own marketing.

Who else handles your details

A couple of services help me do this, and they handle your details only on my instructions:

How long I keep them

I keep your details for as long as you stay subscribed. If you unsubscribe, you stop receiving emails at once, and your details are removed from my list. For how long Sender keeps them after that, see its privacy policy linked above. The only exception is the record that you unsubscribed, which stops you being emailed again by mistake.

Your choices and rights

Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you are off the list.

You can also write to me at any time to:

I will reply within a month, usually much sooner.

If you are unhappy

Please tell me first, and I will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In Greece that is the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr). In the UK it is the Information Commissioner's Office (www.ico.org.uk).

Changes

If I change this policy, I will update the date at the top of this page. If the change matters to you, I will tell you in Faces in the Dark first.
